Our Role

The Sickle Cell Federation of Kenya serves as the central body uniting organizations, healthcare providers, and policymakers to improve the lives of those affected by Sickle Cell Disease (SCD). We advocate for the rights and welfare of people with SCD, promote evidence-based research to guide policy, and work closely with health authorities to set high standards in care, education, and awareness. Through our efforts, we strive to empower, protect, and provide a voice for all individuals impacted by SCD across Kenya.

The Umbrella organization that brings together all organizations that deal with SCD
To Work closely with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the County Health Management Teams ( CHMT) to set the appropriate standards in CARE, EDUCATION & RESEARCH.
To Play an advocacy role at local, regional and international level for optimal and quality care as well as protect patients for exploitation.
To Sensitise and create awareness creation of parents, caregivers , warriors, the general public and all other stakeholders on matters concerning SCD.
To Ensure that evidence-based research is carried out so that the results obtained are used to guide changes in policy.
To Serve its members in pursuit of social welfare, peace, prosperity and integrity.
To be a self-sustaining and determining organization that works within the authority of all the relevant laws of the republic of Kenya.
